Triox was born to a pair of mutants in the gutters of Lathe Het. His mother died in childbirth, and his father was killed when Triox was only four in a routine sweep of the sewage systems of the Forge World, leaving the young boy friendless and alone in a very hazardous situation. Even at that young age, Triox was intelligent enough to discern the workings of broken scraps of technology and put them to use. His quest for knowledge eventually led him into the path of the tech-priest of the hab complex, Albare Kalin, who saw in the boy a great potential. He began to train the boy in the way of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and when Triox reached the age of eight he was submitted for processing by the local chapter.

Though Triox quickly distinguished himself academically, the jealousy of his peers and his own rogue genetics made him a target of ridicule amongst the initiates of the Machine Cult. He buried himself further in his studies and gained ordination in the shortest possible time, requesting transfer to Lathe Hesh.

Triox’s preoccupation with his own genetic code led him to experimentation with himself and others, and his particular gifts led him to attain the rank of Explorator Genetor. For a time, Triox was relatively happy in his research, but political struggles led to his effective exile. He was posted to a deep space observation satellite in Segmentum Obscura, monitoring a gravitic anomaly that showed possible biological traits, and effectively forgotten.

To Triox’s horror, the anomaly was a dormant Necron installation. The Necrons captured Triox and attempted to render him unconscious using pain-overload devices, but Triox’s mutant nerve structure blunted the pain and kept him aware during the entirety of the Necrons’ experimentation. Scarred and tainted by the touch of the vile Xeno, Triox destroyed all the installation’s records of the incursion and locked himself in cryostasis, half-hoping never to be awakened.

200 years later, General Kavik Draque of the Imperial Guard located Triox’s satellite, now adrift without a gravitic anchor to keep it in location. Triox was revived and agreed to serve as an enginseer aboard Draque’s ship. As time passed, Triox earned Draque’s respect, and was asked to serve as Enginseer Prime aboard the Collateral Damage.

Triox is heavily scarred, with thick, white skin grown thick all over his body. His lower face, like all tech-priests’, has been replaced with augmetics. His eyes are mismatched, one a deep recess in the thick growth of his face and the other a protruding bionic eye. His ears have been completely subsumed in the growth of the hide, and he lacks all hair for the same reason. He is bulky and solid, and significantly wider of shoulder than the average human. Triox’s Cyber-Mantle was partially corrupted by the taint of the Necrons, and this factor combined with his own self-modification cause his implants to look different from those of his peers. His mechadendrites and other implants do not hang stationary when not in use like those of his peers, but instead are subject to minute twitches and small movements that give the eerie impression of being living parts of Triox’s body.

Triox is cold and often reserved. He mistrusts the masses of humanity for their mistrust of him, with his variant genetic code. He takes solace in the inarguable logic of machines and mathematics. His brush with the Necrons left him with the distinct impression that one of their dark gods may be present on Mars, and he is tormented by the idea that his Omnissiah may truly be a god of the Sentience Without a Soul.
